Another solid evening of reading in the sun (and finishing up on the couch). Percival Everett’s So Much Blue, coming from Graywolf Press two weeks from today falls somewhere in his top five or so for me. It’s broken into three time specific story lines from one man’s perspective that continually open more to intertwining for the reader at a steady, intentional pace. It might be Everett at his funniest for a novel that doesn’t seem to be intended to have humor as its main focus (as opposed to say, God’s Country, or I Am Not Sidney Poitier). Now on to Mr. Abrams’ novel!
