I usually stay away from the politics here

I usually stay away from the politics here. But when I read something thought provoking, I like to share. I have a lot of family and friends who love their guns and are incredibly conscientious in how they keep their firearms. So I’m posting this, as it’s written by someone with a similar upbringing. And perhaps my many friends that favor gun control can learn something from it too. Middle ground, and a willingness to listen to opposing views, is something we’re missing these days, it seems to me. Of course it always helps when the conclusion is one I agree with!

November 7th we have Maura Weiler as a speaker at our Conference

November 7th we have Maura Weiler as a speaker at our Conference. Check out her quote on writing!
“Creative writing is ridiculously difficult to make a living at. If you are equally interested in writing and some other thing, do that other thing instead, because writing can break your heart.” This is an excerpt from an interview I did on Andilit.com
That said, if you, like me, can’t not write, then make sure you do it. You know who you are. Even if you’re a champion procrastinator, you’re also the one who loses track of time and space once you get started, don’t want to stop when you have to, and get a profound sense of satisfaction after having done it. Besides, if you’re in this category, avoiding your need to write requires more energy and causes more misery than actually writing, scary as it is. Along with the heartbreak, writing has brought me more joy than I could have imagined.
Finally, be confident in yourself. I’m not saying scorn constructive criticism or be sloppy. I’m saying put in the time and work hard, all the while believing in your core that you can write as well as anyone else. You wouldn’t feel so driven to do this if you weren’t good at it.”

If you think college campuses shouldn’t allow students to carry concealed weapons on campus

If you think college campuses shouldn’t allow students to carry concealed weapons on campus. buy a big fat dildo today. Seriously.
Run, not walk, and join the “Campus (DILDO) Carry” movement. It may very well save student lives. Starting Aug. 1, 2016, it will be legal to carry concealed weapons onto college campuses. Protestors will come out swinging with other weapons: dildos.
Not so oddly in a totally odd state, while concealed guns will be legal, the open display of dildos is not. You would receive a citation for bringing a DILDO to class before you would get in trouble for bringing a gun. Heaven forbid the Devilish power of a fake penis.
Starting on the first day of Long Session classes on August 24, 2016, supporting students will be strapping gigantic swinging dildos to their backpacks in protest of campus carry. Their rallying cry? “Cocks Not Glocks”. Dildos are as effective at protecting students from sociopathic shooters as concealed weapons but are much safer for recreational play.
Give your support no matter where you live. Perhaps join them on August 24 ,2016. You could maybe help keep the campus safe by forming a human wall of dildos around the campus.
I have a feeling that a lot of pro-concealed-carry frat boys and others will join in the protest because, well, dildos. After all, Texas has too many dildos on their campuses and legislature already.

I can’t escape the thought of you

I can’t escape the thought of you. Even in my dreams you are there. It’s not fair how your gone, and how you’re moving on so fast, while I am still living in the past.
Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you only have one life to live and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
It’s a feeling I can’t explain; you’re like a girl out of my dreams but yet you seem to be just out of my reach and ever since you walked into my life I’ve just prayed it will all work out in the end.
If I could reach the stars, pull one down for you, shine it on my heart, so you could see the truth, then this love I have inside, is everything it seems, but for now I find it’s only in my dreams
I love to dream of me and you, I love to dream of a love so true. I love to dream you really are there, I love to dream that you really do care. I love to dream my heart you’ll take, I love to dream my heart won’t break… I love to dream but I hate to wake.
It’s not enough to have a dream, unless you’re willing to pursue it. It’s not enough to know what’s right, unless you’re strong enough to do it. It’s not enough to learn the truth, unless you also learn to live it. It’s not enough to reach for love, unless you care enough to give it. Men who are resolved to find a way for themselves will always find opportunities enough; and if they do not find them, they will make them

Life is not fair. – https://twitter.com/godoficepanth…/status/627282142205231104
Perhaps you give more gifts and holiday cheer than anyone gives to you. You may give great advice, but never get thanked for it. Maybe you donate more than your fair share to those who are less fortunate than you.
And that’s a good thing!
“A human being feels able and competent only so long as he is permitted to contribute as much or more than he has contributed to him.” — L. Ron Hubbard
For example, you promise to work five extra hours for your client, Joe. During those hours, you are focused, efficient and professional. You get so involved with the job, you forget to watch the clock and end up working for almost six hours, but still only charge for five. Joe is impressed and you are proud. Your future with Joe feels secure.
As another example, you tell Chris, “You poor thing! You don’t need to work. We’ll just give you money each month.” At first, Chris thinks this is a great deal. But soon, she wonders, “Am I so useless that no one wants me to work? Can’t I make a contribution here?” She feels unable and incompetent. If you then get Chris to do some work for the money, she feels happy and secure.
As a final example, you encourage your children to contribute to the family. Your four-year old sweeps the floors each day. Your ten-year-old takes care of the pets. Your fifteen-year-old washes your car every week. Your family is happy as everyone feels able and competent.
“A man can over-contribute and feel secure in an environment. He feels insecure the moment he under-contributes, which is to say, gives less than he receives. If you don’t believe this, recall a time when everyone else brought something to the party but you didn’t. How did you feel? — L. Ron Hubbard
